About Me
My interest in human behavior, thought, and relationships emerged from a young age. As a result, I pursued a degree in Psychology at the University of Bedfordshire in England and later completed my Master’s in Speech and Language Therapy at City University of London.
After finishing my studies, I worked in nurseries, schools, day centers, rehabilitation centers, and hospitals across London, specializing in neuropsychiatric cases.
Upon returning to Greece in 2003, I initially worked as a speech and language therapist, focusing primarily on developmental disorders and auditory processing issues in children. I was employed in private practices, interdisciplinary therapy centers, and the American Community Schools of Athens.
Concurrently, for over a decade, I collaborated as a scientific associate with the Behavioral and Developmental Pediatrics Unit of the First Department of Pediatrics at the University of Athens, located at “Aghia Sophia” Children’s Hospital. There, I was involved in assessment, diagnosis, and the coordination of the therapies that each child should receive.
At the hospital, my close interaction with families seeking guidance regarding their child’s diagnosis and developmental progress, highlighted a critical insight: for every child that faces challenges to thrive, their family must also receive psychological support.
This realization led me to pursue further training in Psychotherapy. I continued my education in Systemic/Family Psychotherapy at the Systemic Center for Psychotherapy Specialization, gaining expertise in individual, family, and group therapy.
Upon completing this training, I shifted my focus exclusively to mental health services at my private practice.
Throughout my career, I have attended specialized seminars and workshops and participated in conferences in Greece and the United States. Additionally, I have lectured pediatricians and developmental specialists as part of the Postgraduate Program at the University of Athens, titled “Basic Principles of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics A & B.”
I am a member of the following organizations: the British Psychological Society, the Panhellenic Association of Speech Therapists, the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and the Health & Care Professions Council.
